Photo Challenge: The Rule of Space

PARADE DAY

Hi Friday My Town Shoot Out!  It's our little town's summer festival this weekend.  I edited a parade photo in Photoshop for your blog hop this week.  It was my most successful try at using "the rule of space" (which is, you will create a more pleasing image by giving the subject space in which to move.)

Using PS I created an alpha channel layer and combined it with a lens blur filter for the photo.

Have a great weekend!

  3. It's that time of the year for parades. We just went to one in our hometown, too. Kids always seem the most excited. You did a nice job capturing the fun and energy (with lots of space for the parade to go down the street!) :)

  5. That really captures space so well! I really like the effect you gave it and the clarity of the lollipop.

  6. Really good and creative. The space is a void that will be filled by the parade. EXTRA nice!!

  8. Unless I'm wrong, you are new to the Friday Shootout! Welcome aboard and keep coming back. I love the affect you get by focusing on the lollypop -- waiting for the girl to notice it and run out into the space and get it.
